artificial intelligence (AI) for design is a relatively new but active area
of research across many disciplines. Surprisingly when it comes to designing
detectors with AI this is an area at its infancy. The Electron Ion Collider is
the ultimate machine to study the strong force. The EI
2023 AI4EIC hackathon at The Catholic University of America brought together researchers to discuss the latest developments in AI and Machine Learning for the Electron Ion Collider, and the hackathon involved using a chatbot powered by ChatGPT-3.5 to analyze physics data.
